Betty Oakes
Betty Jo Oakes, of, Chattanooga, died on July 29, 2015 in High Point, NC.
Betty Jo was a native and lifelong resident of Chattanooga, born on May 3, 1932, to parents Walter and Mattie (Lingerfelt) Jones.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Clarence William Oakes Jr, brothers, William Jones, Williard Jones, and Walter Jones, Jr. “Buddy”; sisters, Thelma McKee, Ruth Slaughter, Naomi Jones Oakes, and Bernice Jones “Bunny”.
She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by her nieces and nephews who survive her.
Visitation will be from 12-2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 1, at Lane Funeral Home, 601 Ashland Terrace.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, at the funeral home, with interment following in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
