Eugene Gaines
Eugene Gaines, 45, was shot Thursday night on North Germantown Road.
Officers with the Chattanooga Police Department were called to a local hospital after a man showed up with a gunshot wound.
Gaines suffered a single gunshot wound to the elbow. He told investigators he was shot when pulling into the parking lot at the Park Village Apartments. His injury was non-life threatening.
The suspect was described as a black male wearing a dark hoodie. No other details were provided.
Gaines was found to have an active warrant for theft, and was transported to the Hamilton County Jail.
Nothing of evidentiary value was found at the scene by investigators. Chattanooga Police Department's Violent Crimes Bureau continues to investigate this incident.
