Dalton Police Department Seeks 2 Cash Thieves; Thief Decides To Return Money

  • Wednesday, July 20, 2016

The Dalton Police Department is asking for the public’s help with identifying two people who stole $60 in cash that was accidentally left behind by a customer at Walmart. The suspects were recorded by the store’s surveillance system.

Dalton Police later said that the indivdual who took the money from the self checkout has contacted an officer and is making arrangements to turn in the money.

The incident happened shortly after 9 p.m. on Tuesday at the Shugart Road Walmart. A customer using a self-checkout machine requested $60 in cash back but then forgot the money in the dispenser. Before the customer could return, the two suspects went to check out and took the money with them.

The suspects are a white male and a white female. The male had facial hair and wore a blue T-shirt and dark baseball hat backwards. The woman was heavy set and wore an orange T-shirt, black shorts, and flip flops.

Anyone with information on the identity of the suspects is asked to contact Officer John Gurrieri at 706-278-9085, dial 9 and enter extension 242.
