After Car Break-In, DPD Seeks Man Using Stolen Credit Card

  • Wednesday, August 17, 2016

Police are looking for a man who broke into a car at a local gym and stole a patron’s wallet. The victim’s credit card was later used at an area Walmart and a suspect was recorded on video.

The break-in happened in the parking lot of the Crossfit gym at 609 South Hamilton St. on Aug. 9 between 5 and 6 p.m. A witness reported seeing two white males in the area of the car that was broken into. Those men left in a white passenger car of an unknown make or model.

The victim cancelled his credit cards after calling police, but learned that his card had already been used at the Walmart on East Walnut Avenue.

A Dalton officer got the video of the transaction showing a white male using the card to make a purchase in the store’s outdoor garden center. The man wore a gray Nike hooded sweatshirt with the hood pulled up. The suspect was also wearing a black baseball cap, white athletic-type shorts, and black shoes.

Anyone who recognizes this man is asked to call Officer Patrick Lee at 706.278-9085, dial 9 and enter extension 491. Officer Lee can also be reached by email at jlee@cityofdalton-ga.gov.
