Crews Rescue Injured Man At Pocket Wilderness

Crews rescued an injured man at the Pocket Wilderness Thursday afternoon.

The Mowbray Volunteer Fire Department responded at 11 a.m. to an emergency regarding a 36-year-old man who sustained an ankle injury from falling 10 feet off of a rock.  

Sequoyah Volunteer Fire Department and Dallas Bay Volunteer Fire Department responded to the scene for additional manpower. Rescue personnel found the injured man about a 1/4 mile into the woods.

Hamilton County EMS walked in the woods with rescue personnel to assist his medical needs.

Rescue efforts lasted an hour.
