Roosevelt Glanton, Jr., 69, died on July 26, 2016 at his home.
He was a graduate of Riverside High School Class of 1965, where he played in the band.
He recently retired from Erlanger Hospital Dietary Department after 50 years of service. He received an award for “Never late to work out of 50 years”. He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roosevelt Glanton, Sr. and Estelle Carter Glanton; sister, Fannie Campuell.
Survivors include his wife, Mattie Mae Glanton; children, Roosevelt Glanton, III and Brenda Hemphill, all of Chattanooga; sisters, Berdell Davis, Cincinnati, OH; Dorothy Peters, Columbus, OH; grandchildren, Quinneshia Payne, Kiara and Breshella Hemphill; great-grandchildren, Zalon and Zaylon Payne and Keyvuanna King; and nephew, Kevin Glanton, Cincinnati, OH.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, Aug.5, at 1 p.m. in the chapel.
The body will lie in state after noon on Thursday, Aug. 4, and the family will receive friends from 7–8 p.m. at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., 622-9995.
