Jackie Joe ”Jack Rabbit” Rich, 80, of Whitwell, Tennessee, passed away on Saturday, August 6, 2016, following a lengthy battle with cancer.
He had worked in the coal industry as a truck driver.
He was born in Spencer, TN on Oct. 11, 1935 to the late Charles “Buster” and Martha Nancy “Pauline “Nale Rich; and was also preceded in death by his son, Larry Dean; his brother, Edward “Pete” Rich; and his sister, Carol “Dean” Atterton.
Mr. Rich is survived by his wife, Shirley F. Rich, of Whitwell, TN; children, Jackie Joe “Jack” (Janet) Rich, of Geneva, FL, Terri (Jim)Hackney, of Whitwell, TN, Rhonda (Ray) Keahey, Jasper, TN, Debbie (Eddie) Peardon, Jasper, TN, Lisa (Craig) Cox, Cleveland, AL, Larry (Barbara) Rich, Sequatchie, TN and Donna (Keith) Barnett, Whitwell, TN; ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a sister, Charlotte (Russell) Belk, Jasper, TN.
Funeral services will be conducted from the funeral home chapel 2 p.m. CDT, on Wednesday, Aug. 10, with Bro. Herschel Powell officiating. Interment will follow in Gott Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 3-8 p.m. CDT, Tuesday, Aug. 9 at the Tate Funeral Home, who has charge of the arrangements.
