Mocs Tennis Wins Two Titles At USC Upstate Fall Invite

University of Tennessee at Chattanooga sophomoreCaroline Hall wrapped up play at the USC Upstate Fall Invite by winning the Grey Singles Draw today.  Fellow sophomores Delaney Edwards and Sydney Patton also teamed up to win the Green Doubles Draw in Spartanburg, S.C.

Hall had a three-set battle with Queen's Carlotta Nassi.  She dropped the first set 7-5, but won the second in a tiebreaker.  Hall was up 4-1 in the third when Nassi withdrew. 

"It was a very tough and long match today, and I had to bring my best tennis," stated Hall.
Having my teammates cheer me on makes me even more excited to compete for UTC this year."

Edwards and Patton took on Armstrong State's Lutzeieir and Roca in their finals match.  ASU is the defending NCAA DII national champions.  Edwards and Patton capped off their weekend with a 6-4 win.

"The ladies played some big time tennis today!" stated head coach Chad Camper.  "For Delaney and Sydney to win at doubles against such an accomplished Armstrong team is amazing."

"Then Caroline battled in the heat and dug down deep to win the singles title. She showed so much heart and the team really came together today.  Good things to come."

Next up for the Mocs is the UTC Steve Baras Fall Classic.  Chattanooga's home fall event is set for Sept. 30-Oct. 1 at the Champions Club.
