Air Force Veteran Retired From TVA And U.S. Postal Service

Tommy Woods Brown, 80, of Chattanooga, passed peacefully on January 1, 2017, after a decline in health. 

He was cared for by his wife, June and their daughters, Michelle and Dawn during the last days of his life.

Tommy was born in Boaz, Al., to the late Tom and Louise Brown, but had called Chattanooga his home since he was four years old.  He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, retired from the U.S. Postal Service and TVA.  Tommy was loved by everyone who met him and was a longtime member of Brainerd Church of Christ. 

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 56 years, June Brown, daughters, Michelle (Ray) Theriault of Orlean, VA and Dawn (Steve) Evans of Garfield, GA; grandchildren,  SSG Stefan Theriault, Germany, Jon-Jon Evans, Melbourn, FL, and Alina Theriault, Orlean, VA;  twin brother, Johnny (Joyce) Brown, Chattanooga;  sister-in-law, Faye Ross, Odenville, AL; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, Jan. 6, at 3 p.m. at the Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors.
