Dalton Police Department Seeks Suspect In Tool Theft

  • Monday, December 11, 2017

The Dalton Police Department is asking for the public’s help identifying a man who stole a tool from a local garage. The tool, an impact wrench used in the changing of tires, is valued at approximately $200. The theft was recorded by surveillance cameras.

The incident happened on the afternoon of Nov. 11, at Arevalo’s Tire at 312 North Glenwood Ave. Two men entered the store to get a tire repaired. When it was time to pick up the repaired tire, one of the men stayed in the garage area while the other went inside the office area to pay for the repair. While he was left alone in the garage, the first man started to roll the repaired tire out to the parking lot and saw an impact wrench left unattended. The man picked up the tool and concealed it in the front of his pants. The stolen tool was an Ingersoll Rand brand impact wrench. When employees noticed the tool was missing, they checked surveillance and discovered the theft.

The suspect is a black male with a shaved head who wore a blue T-shirt with the sleeves cut off and shorts with black boots. He and the other man were driving an older model black single cab Nissan truck with heavy rusting on the roof.

Anyone who knows the suspect or has information about this crime is asked to contact Detective Aaron Simpson at 706-278-9085, ext. 9253
