Carl Howard, 54, Arrested After Foot Chase, For Cleveland Home Burglary

Cleveland detectives have arrested Carl Dewayne Howard, 54, of Charleston, Tn., for his involvement in a recent home burglary.

The burglary occurred in mid-November at a residence in the area of Chilcutt Road, which resulted in the homeowner reporting several thousands of dollars worth of items stolen. Upon investigating multiple tips, detectives were directed to Howard’s residence in Charleston, which led to the discovery of stolen items inside a van on the property.

Howard was arrested after leading detectives on a brief foot pursuit while also trying to destroy evidence. Detectives observed Howard throwing a clear plastic baggie containing a white powdery substance believed to be methamphetamine, which was later seized along with drug paraphernalia after the arrest.

Further search of the property resulted in additional stolen items being found from the burglary in the Chilcutt Road area.

Howard faces the following criminal charges: aggravated burglary, burglary, theft over $2,500, tampering with evidence, possession of Methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
