The person shot during the altercation on Central Avenue with Chattanooga Police on Sept. 4, has been identified as Casey Jay Smith, 33, of Hixson.

Smith is undergoing treatment for wounds received during the incident at a local hospital. 

The investigation into the officer-involved shooting is ongoing.
