Fire damaged a home Monday afternoon on Hunt Drive.
Units with the Chattanooga Fire Department responded to 6514 Hunt Drive around 4:40 p.m. Captain Jackson with Quint 8 reported light smoke coming from the structure upon arrival. Crews were able to make a quick interior attack and extinguish the fire in the utility room.
According to Battalion Chief Middlebrooks, the incident commander, the fire appeared to start in the dryer exhaust system. Damages are estimated to be $10,000. Everyone was able to make it out of the building and no injuries are being reported.
Chattanooga Police Department, Hamilton County EMS, and Electric Power Board all assisted on this call. The two occupants will not be able to live in the home at this time and will be staying with family until the home can be made safe for occupation.
