Roark, Bernice (McDonald)

Bernice Roark, 90, a resident of McDonald, Tennessee, passed away on Sunday morning, April 15, 2018.

She was born on Feb. 8, 1928, to the late Delmar and Ellen Lewis. Bernice was a member of the Westwood Baptist Church. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, and entertaining others. She had a vibrant personality, always making others laugh. Bernice will be dearly missed by all that knew her.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Orlando Hurbert Roark; second husband, William Randolph; and siblings, Rosetta Lewis and Thelma Lewis.

Bernice leaves behind to cherish her memory, her loving children, Eilene Rushing (Keith) and Geary Roark; grandchildren, Lance Hooper (Jacqueline), James Alexander “Jim” Rushing, and Mary Sullivan Roark; great-granddaughter, Hannah Riley Hooper; sister, Margie Hullander; as well as extended family and her friends at Morningside.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 19, from 3-5 p.m. at the Westwood Baptist Church, at 4001 Georgetown Road, Cleveland, Tn. 37312.

A celebration of life service will begin at 5 p.m. at the church, with Pastor Jim Cawood officiating. 
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org.
