Former Chattanoogan Scott Lindsey Named To Post In Karl Dean Campaign

  • Thursday, July 12, 2018

Less than a month away from the August primary election, Karl Dean for Governor has ramped up its grassroots organizing efforts with the addition of “Get Out the Vote” director and former Chattanoogan Scott Lindsey.  Mr. Lindsey will be joining efforts with Elizabeth Henderson, the campaign’s field director.

Officials said Mr. Lindsey has years of experience with political campaigns working on everything from strategy to voter turnout efforts. He most recently worked as chief strategist to Judge Rachel Bell’s General Sessions campaign. Mr. Lindsey has worked with candidates both in Nashville and his native Chattanooga.

In 2002, Mr. Lindsey was apart of Phil Bredesen’s “Get Out of Vote” operations in Hamilton County.

“In 2016, Tennessee ranked 50th in for voter participation and it’s been one of my priorities during this campaign to change that,” Mr. Dean said. “I’m confident Scott Lindsey will work with our grassroots supporters to turn out the vote for Karl Dean and show strong support going into the general election in November.”

“Our strategy is largely centered around connecting voters to Karl Dean’s message and moving them to vote for him,” Mr. Lindsey said. “He is the only candidate for governor who has humbled himself enough to admit he isn’t always the loudest guy in the room. And we need a governor who is going to listen to Tennesseans.”
