UTC's Trotter Nominated For Allstate AFCA Good Works Team

  • Wednesday, July 18, 2018

University of Tennessee at Chattanooga running back Alex Trotter was just announced as a nominee for the prestigious 2018 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team for making a significant impact on his community through his volunteer accomplishments.  Trotter is a graduate of McCallie School.

Trotter is one of the 169 college football players from across the country that were nominated this year for their remarkable “good works” off the field. Since 1992, the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team has been one of the most coveted community service awards in college football, bringing together student athletes from all divisions of play to honor their dedication to volunteerism and enriching the lives of others.

Trotter boasts an impressive resume of accomplishments:

Volunteering with the Big Brothers of Greater Chattanooga organization serving as a positive role model to youth
Reading to elementary school students and providing mentorship
Helping during the annual Chattanooga Clean and Green beautification project, despite having surgery on his shoulder

From the 169 nominees, a final roster of 22 award recipients - comprised of 11 players from the NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision and 11 players from the NCAA Football Championship Subdivision, Divisions II, III and the NAIA (and one honorary head coach) - will be unveiled in September.

College football fans are encouraged to join in on the conversation by using #GoodWorksTeam on social media.
