A body was found at a house in the 5400 block of School Street on Monday night.
The victim was identified as Gary Percill McPherson.
Chattanooga Police responded at approximately 6:30 p.m. to a call regarding a deceased person whose body was located at the residence.
After the Chattanooga Police Department contacted the Hamilton County District Attorney regarding the circumstances surrounding the incident, District Attorney General Neal Pinkston assigned the handling of the investigation to the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office.
School Street goes between Lee Highway and Old Cleveland Pike at Ooltewah.
