1 Killed, 3 Others Shot At Altamont Home On Sunday Afternoon

One person was killed and three others injured in a domestic shooting at a home at Altamont in Grundy County on Sunday afternoon.

John Smith of Marion County shot and killed his wife, Carolyn Nicole Powell, authorities said. She was dead at the scene.

Smith was shot in the head by Carolyn Powell's father, Jerone Powell. The shooting was in the yard of the Powell home.

Powell was shot in the side.

Another man who was shot may have critical injuries.

Six children were present at the shooting scene.

The incident happened around 3:30 p.m.

at 12466 State Route 56.
