Good Neighbors is hosting its first annual, “Red and White Tea” on Saturday, Feb. 9, from 3-5 p.m. at the Whiteside Faith Manor, 735 East 10th St. The event will kickoff their annual fundraising campaign.
The all day flea market will be Saturday, Feb. 16 at Isbell Barbeque at 4801 Brainerd Road. Cash donations, canned goods and nonperishable items are appreciated and may be dropped off at the market or at Good Neighbors, 737 East 10th St., next to Whiteside Faith Manor.
The “Tea” will spotlight new members, sponsors and financial supporters, and provide an overview of annual fundraising events and community service projects. The goal is to raise $25,000 to continue providing services to those in need, and to donate 5,000 pounds of nonperishable food to Chattanooga Food Bank.
Good Neighbors has contributed approximately $15,000 annually, providing medical, utility and rental assistance, officials said.
Also on the organization’s wish list are funds to purchase vehicles to transport individuals to and from Chattanooga Food Bank to pick up food and vouchers for food. "Any support and assistance is greatly appreciated," officials said.
