Continued Rain Set To Cause Minor Flooding Along Lookout Creek

Continued rain in the Chattanooga area is set to bring some minor flooding along Lookout Creek, the National Weather Service said.

There is a Flood Warning in effect through mid-afternoon today (Friday).

At 6 a.m. on Thursday, the stage for Lookout Creek in Dade County, Ga., was 10.3 feet and rising. The flood stage is 12 feet.

It was forecast to rise to 15 feet.

At 15 feet, minor flooding continues to expand along Mason Road near Rising Fawn, Sells Lane in Trenton and Creek Road near New England.

The NWS said, "These roads and other roads with creeks flowing into Lookout Creek will flood causing the roads to be closed.

"The water will be a few feet deep on portions of these roads.

"Also, minor flooding will continued to expand downstream as the creek crosses the Tennessee border into the Tiftonia area."
