Cathy Andrews Selected As Cleveland's Redevelopment Coordinator

Cleveland City Manager Joe Fivas has selected Cathy Andrews as the city’s first redevelopment coordinator. Ms. Andrews began her duties earlier this year.

"Cathy is excited to accept the challenges and responsibilities that accompany this new position and to work with city leadership to help implement the goals of the community," officials said. "In this role, Cathy’s primary responsibilities will be assisting with the city’s redevelopment projects, managing Cleveland’s Community Development Block Grant Program, monitoring professional service agreements and contracts for various grant funded contracts and helping coordinate economic development activities. Cathy brings 20 years of experience to this position. She has an extensive background in state and federal funding sources along with over 15 years of experience in project development, grant writing and project implementation. Cathy played an instrumental role in the development of the Brownfield Program for the Southeast Tennessee Region with the Southeast Tennessee Development District, which has received national recognition by the National Brownfield Training Conference and the United States Environmental Protection Agency." 

“Cathy brings with her an extraordinary amount of knowledge and expertise in community development and project management,” said Mr. Fivas. “Her familiarity and high level of understanding pertaining to state and federal regulatory requirements, construction projects and grants administration are tremendous assets for the city of Cleveland. I believe she an excellent fit for the city of Cleveland.”

Ms. Andrews attended Tennessee Technological University in Cookeville, where she received her bachelor of science. Prior to her role in Cleveland, she spent 10 years with the Southeast Tennessee Development District, where she administered the small cities CDBG program for a 10-county region, as well as developed and implemented the Neighborhood Stabilization Program in Southeast Tennessee. Before her position with the Southeast Tennessee Development District, Ms. Andrews spent 10 years with the city of Cookeville, where she developed and implemented the city's Brownfield Program.
