An Athens Park Bloods gang member charged in a state RICO conspiracy was sentenced to two years in federal prison on Monday.
Darrell Armstrong has served 21 months in jail and will be eligible for release soon.
His attorney, D. Michael Bryant of Athens, Tn., said Armstrong "was super easy to work with."
Armstrong said he took advantage of opportunities to better himself while in jail. He said, "I was saved and baptized. I used the time to rehabilitate myself."
Armstrong appeared before Judge Sandy Mattice.
