Motorcyclist, 30, Killed On Interstate 24 After Rear-Ending Tractor-Trailer At High Rate Of Speed

A motorcyclist was killed Saturday afternoon on Interstate 24.
 
The crash occurred at 18400 Interstate 24 eastbound at approximately 4:33 p.m.
 
The CPD Traffic Unit responded to the scene. 
 
A Suzuki motorcycle was traveling near mile marker 184 at a high rate of speed when the driver struck the rear of an International semi-truck.
 
The man, 30, separated from the motorcycle and was pronounced deceased on the scene by Hamilton County EMS.
 
The driver of the truck was unaware the vehicle he was driving was struck, did not stop, but was located and stopped soon after the collision occurred.
 
A third vehicle, a Nissan Rogue, was struck by debris from the crash.
 
No injuries were reported by drivers of the truck and Nissan nor the passenger in the Nissan.

The name of the motorcyclist is being withheld until notification of his family.
