Coyote Jacks Appeals Action Of City Beer Board In Revoking Its License

  • Wednesday, December 18, 2019

Coyote Jacks has appealed to Chancery Court the action of the City Beer Board in revoking its license.

The action was taken after an 18-year-old was shot and killed near the front door of the establishment.

The city of Chattanooga afterward asked that the bar on the Southside be closed as a public nuisance. Numerous police calls there were cited.

The lawsuit says Coyote Jacks had requested a continuance because its attorney was away on a long planned trip. It says the board went ahead anyway, though bar owners said they would remain closed until the hearing.

It says the hearing went forward with a representative for the bar.

The suit denies the bar was over-crowded, saying it was several hundred people under the limit.

It says there were no issues until police arrived and began to shut down an event.
