Idella Goforth Moon, 92, of Decatur passed away at her home Tuesday, February 19, 2019.
She was born in Meigs County to Richard and Mary Goforth. She had been a resident Carrollton, Ky. and relocated back to Decatur three years ago to be with her daughter, Patricia Cross. She was a Baptist by faith.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Mary Goforth; her brothers, Edward Goforth, Clyde Goforth, and Richard Goforth, Jr.; her sisters, Dessie Crisp and Dorothy Moon; her son, Jerry Moon; and her daughter, Patricia Cross.
Survivors include her sons, Dale Moon of Henderson, Ky and Tommy Moon of Carrollton, Ky.; her daughter, Melodie Boswell (Mark) of Owensboro, Ky.; her son-in-law, Rev. James F. Cross of Decatur; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 22, at Bowers Funeral Home.
Funeral services will at 1 p.m. with Rev. James F. Cross officiating. Burial will follow in Decatur Cemetery.
