Nakia McMillan
A Chattanooga man has been arrested for a rape that police said happened over two years ago.
Nakia McMillan, Sr., 44, was taken into custody on Wednesday after a traffic stop.
The woman said a second man was also involved, but no other arrests have yet been made.
In the incident on April 22, 2017, a woman said she was walking on Dodson Avenue when a vehicle pulled up beside her.
She said a man jumped out of the rear passenger seat and grabbed her, then made her get inside.
She said the pair took her to a trailer home on Boyce Street and raped her. She said after she got away she ran to a nearby store and called police.
A rape kit was completed at the Rape Crisis Center, then evidence was sent to the TBI. It was returned last year with a match to McMillan.
McMillan was stopped for not having a license plate. It was learned while police were dealing with him that he had an outstanding warrant for rape.
He is being held on an $80,000 bond.
