The iconic Aretha Frankenstein's coffeehouse on Tremont Street remains closed due to restoration work and an opening date has not been set. Its many fans will welcome its return.

Jeff Brakebill, owner, said workers just completed replacing the porch decking. It closed in December for repairs.

The old house occupied by the restaurant was heavily damaged in a fire in 2006, but reopened after that.

The popular eatery is best known for its pancakes. The batter is sold far and wide.
