A woman told police that a clerk at the Citgo Pit Stop Market on Dayton Boulevard forced himself on her.

Ashwinkumar Patel, 40, was charged with assault.

The woman said she went to the store to buy a Red Bull, a bag of chips and some scratch off lottery tickets.

She said Patel came around the counter and stood shoulder to shoulder with her, then got behind her and pushed himself on her while squeezing her wrists.

The woman said he told her numerous times "there are no cameras" and they "could go in the back office."

She said when he finally released her wrists, she turned around and he said, "Give me a hug." She said he jerked her toward him and squeezed her breasts.

She said he then asked, "We are friends, right?"

The woman said he tossed a $5 scratch off ticket toward her as she left, but she threw it away.

The incident happened last Oct. 9, but Patel was just arrested on Wednesday.
