Charles Edwards
Charles Allan Edwards, 88, of LaFayette, passed away on Monday, March 2, 2020.
Allan was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and a member of the VFW post 3679 in Fort Oglethorpe.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy “Dot” Edwards, sister, Ruth Sharrock; brother, Ray Edwards; and his parents, Henry McKinley Edwards and Flora Mae Edwards.
He is survived by daughter, Andrea Herr of Knoxville; son, Chuck Edwards of LaFayette; grandson, Ian (Jordin) Herr; great grandson, Sawyer Herr all of Acworth; and sister, Vonnie Hogg of LaFayette; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 5, in the Wilbanks Memorial Chapel with Pastor Lowell Cantrell officiating.
Interment will be in the LaFayette Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the VFW post 3679; 98 Memorial Drive, Fort Oglethorpe, Ga. 30741.
Visitation will be on Thursday from 2 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
