Lela Dandy
Lela Louise Dandy, 92, formerly of Chattanooga, passed away on Tuesday, July 7, 2020, in a hospital in Atlanta, Georgia.
She was employed as a foster grandparent with the Chambliss Center for Children. She was a member of Second Missionary Baptist Church.
Lela was preceded in death by her husband, John Dandy, Jr.; grandson, Anthony Myles; mother, Mae Scott; brothers, Rush Myles and Eunice Myles; sister, Celastine Naomi Myles.
Survivors include her children, Andriene (Albert) Searcy of Stone Mountain, Ga., James (Tewannia) Myles, and Leroy (Vina) Dandy, both of Chattanooga; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; nieces, Sara Ford and Laura Buttram; and several nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
She will lie in state on Monday, July 13, from 1-5 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home.
A family service will be on Tuesday, July 14, at 1 p.m. in the chapel with Pastor Grant Harris as the eulogist. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
