Philip Schaeffer, 81, of Rossville, Georgia, died surrounded by loved ones on September 23, 2020.

He was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Nativity.

He was born in Chattanooga, to the late Harry J. Schaeffer and Hazel Sweet Schaeffer and was a graduate of the 1958 Class of Lakeview Ft. Oglethorpe High School.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Carol; daughters, Cathy Schaeffer Reed (Jerry) and DeeAnn Schaeffer; sons, Charles Schaeffer and Ronnie Schaeffer (Rhonda); four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; his brothers, James Schaeffer of Pompano Beach, FL and Lance Schaeffer of Paia, HI.

He was preceded in death by his son, Wayne Schaeffer.

A private committal service will be held at The Episcopal Church of the Nativity in Fort Oglethorpe, Ga., with Fr. Jason Emerson officiating.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Church of the Nativity or Hospice of Chattanooga, 4411 Oakwood Drive, Chattanooga, Tn. 37416.
