The city of Collegedale is getting a new coffee shop, Scooter’s Coffee, that will be located off of Apison Pike. A  20-year land lease for the business was approved at the Collegedale Commission meeting Monday night. In exchange, Scooter’s will build a parking lot for Veterans Park. The first 20 years of the lease will cost Scooter’s nothing. There is an option to renew it for another term of 20 years at the market rate. At the end of the lease, the land will revert back to Collegedale.

City Manager Wayon Hines said the city will benefit by receiving sales tax from the business that specializes in coffee and pastries, plus the free parking lot for the park.
