Georgia Has 73 New Coronavirus Deaths; 1,462 New Cases

Georgia state health officials reported on Saturday there have been 73 additional deaths due to the coronavirus. The current total is 15,597.

There were 1,462 new cases, as that total reached 827,397 confirmed cases of coronavirus. 

Hospitalizations are at 56,762, 135 more than Friday.

Here are the numbers by county:

Catoosa County: 5,189 cases, up 9; 62 deaths, up 1; 234 hospitalizations, up 1

Chattooga County: 2,113 cases, up 4; 60 deaths; 160 hospitalizations

Dade County: 1,129 cases, up 2; 10 deaths, up 1; 53 hospitalizations, up 2

Walker County: 5,995 cases, up 12; 73 deaths; 255 hospitalizations, up 1

Whitfield County: 14,270 cases, up 20; 213 deaths, up 1; 702 hospitalizations, up 3
