Charles Alan "Ted" Lindsey, Jr., 74, of Chattanooga passed away on Wednesday, November 11, 2020.

Hi from TED, my life has come to an unexpected end, but hoping the memories of fun times from my past will continue.  I came into this world on January 17, 1946 in Knoxville, Tn.

I’ll take you through some of my memories – saving my baby sister Gaye from drowning in the bathtub, Cub Scouts with my friends, traveling out west with friends by bus and eating pineapple and mayo sandwiches, swim/diving with Stuart Heights Swim Team, attending Baylor Military School, (to my disappointment before girls were accepted), spit shining the military shoes and polishing brass.

Then the fun times began when transferred to Chattanooga ‘City’ High School let the parties begin and did they! We rolled up the carpet, had live bands, swam and danced.  Immediately after high school graduation the next milestone was waiting in college classes to be drafted, as this was the era of the Vietnam War.  I joined the Navy along with my best friend, Junior.  We were stationed in California before submarine duty.  I pondered there had to be something more challenging and quickly volunteered for more action military duties; these missions I rarely discuss.  During the War I had the opportunity to remain in Hong Kong, however I don’t know what life would have been, but definitely interesting.

Upon returning to Chattanooga I was accepted at Emory University to continue my college education and obtaining a marketing degree.  While attending Emory I fell in love with the most beautiful lady, married, and we had a son Blake, whom my Mother described as her third child.  As life has its many changes, I moved to Florida with the entertainment industry, married and had a beautiful daughter, Taylor – so very proud of her accomplishments.

Gaye, you will have to figure your age each year without my comparison as we joked each birthday.

Life has its challenges but my life was always living for today, “True Love Lives Forever”.

I’ll see you in your dreams; so long family and friends, until we meet again.

My parents both departed their earthly life in this past 12 months, after 75 years together.

A memorial service will be held in my honor on Monday, April 26, at 1 p.m. at St. Peters Episcopal Church, 848 Ashland Terrace, Chattanooga, Tn. 37415.
