Wade Hinton Named Top Diversity Officer At National Diversity And Leadership Conference

At their 17th Annual National Diversity and Leadership Conference in April, DiversityFirst recognized business leader and attorney Wade Hinton by naming him among the 2021 Top 100 Diversity Officers. Award winners were selected from organizations across the country and represent various industries such as healthcare, technology, and entertainment.

“As diversity, equity, and inclusion are finally being seen and acknowledged as serious, pressing matters of discussion, we are delighted to honor and recognize those who have been tirelessly championing belonging and allyship - even before the topic was on the forefront of Americans’ minds," said Dennis Kennedy, founder of the National Diversity Council. "We thank you, our top 100 Diversity Officers, for your work and commitment, and we look forward to witnessing all that you'll accomplish, all the leaders that you'll develop, and the impact you'll leave behind in the DEI sphere."

Mr. Hinton ran for mayor of Chattanooga.  Prior to his run, Mr. Hinton served as Unum Group’s first chief inclusion and diversity officer. During Mr. Hinton’s tenure, Unum made its first appearance on Forbes Magazine’s 500 Best Employers for Diversity and now is listed in the top 100.
