David P. Houston, 63, passed away on July 31, 2021.

He lived most of his adult life in Harrison, Tn., and was a member of Oakwood Baptist Church. David was a graduate of Lakeview High School in Fort Oglethorpe.  After high school, he served three years in the United States Army during Vietnam.  Following his military service, he became a member of IBEW Local Union 175, where he retired with over 35 years of service.  David loved to go boating, fishing, hunting, and camping out listening to good music, with his family and friends for company.  His life was a great adventure.  He worked hard and was loved by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.  Now, his work here is done.  David has begun a new journey, a new adventure.  Remember him with a smile.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gerold M. Houston and Barbara Simms Houston, and his sister, Terri Houston Rigsby.

David is survived by his wife, Deborah Burgner Houston; sons, Christopher (Regina) Houston and Michael (Misty) Williams; daughter, Amanda (Marshall) Meers; twelve grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 4, 2021 from 5 – 8 p.m. at Turner Funeral Home at Highway 58. At the request of the family, there will not be a service held.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations to be made to Hospice of Chattanooga.
