William L. Carmony III, 65, of Ooltewah, Tennessee, died on September 14, 2021.
William, or Bill as he was known, was born on July 16, 1956, to his parents, William L. Carmony Jr. and Kathy Stacy.
Bill graduated from Whiteland Community High School in 1974. Bill joined the United States Army and became a member of the 82nd Airborne Division before graduating from Indiana University in 1984 with a bachelor’s degree in history. Bill worked in the transportation industry for more than 30 years as an executive in several fields, including sales and operations, as well as owning his own company, Carmony Transport & Logistics. Bill enjoyed reading, boating, and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. He was a huge fan of racing, attending the Indy 500 numerous times over the years.
He was preceded in death by his father, William and his stepfather Bill Stacy.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Carmony; his two sons, Kenneth Nicholson and Andy Spitler; mother Kathy Stacy; sisters Carol Summers, SuAnn Parks and Leesa Carmony; a host of nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 21, from 5-7 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home in East Brainerd. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 22, at Heritage Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
