Hiney “Punch” Dixon, Jr., 96, of Chattanooga, passed away on Tuesday, January 25, 2022, in a local hospital.

 

He was a member of the Local Teamster #846.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Curley Dixon, and Rebecca Chaney; Indy Dixon, Rufus Dixon, Bobby J. Dixon, Roy Dixon, Ulyssee Willis, Christine Kirk, Carrie Lazenby, Marie Williams, Gussie Williams, Willie Mae Pugh, Theresa Coggon, Curley Dixon, Jr., and John Lee Willis.

 

Survivors include his sons, Matthew Dixon, and Glen Dixon, both of Chattanooga; daughters, Joyce Ann Taylor and Carol Dixon Jones, both of Miami, FL, Jennifer Marble, of Rex, GA, and Tyna D. Dixon, of Chattanooga; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren; and brother, Eddie George (Geannie) Dixon, of Miami, FL.

 

Hiney will lie in state on Wednesday, Feb. 9, from 12:30-5 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home.

 

Funeral service will be on Thursday, Feb. 10, at 11 a.m. in the chapel with Pastor George Woodruff as the eulogist.

 

Burial will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
