  • Thursday, October 6, 2022
The Baylor Red Raiders girls cross country team beat the second-place East Hamilton Hurricanes Thursday night at the Grove Level Stampede. Although only Baylor's top runner Addi Greene outran the leading edge of the Hurricane squad, Baylor's 5th, 6th, and 7th runners made the difference. After four finishers, the Hurricanes held a one-point advantage, led by Willa Barnes (2nd) and Adrianna Huffstuttler (3rd), but the spread for the final three gave Baylor a 38 to 56 win against East Hamilton. Dalton's girls took third with 146 points.

In the boys race, Baylor beat Dalton 39 to 49, with Baylor's top five leading their closely-pursuing Dalton counterparts for most of the race.
Fannin County took third with 165 points. Baylor's Christopher Knight and Jack Gartman took first and second individually, followed by LaFayette's Tucker Henderson.
