Frederick Joe Reid
Frederick Joe Reid, 75, was born on November 3, 1946, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, to the late Willie Reid and Willie Mae Walton Reid. He passed away on Saturday, January 29, 2022, in Chattanooga.
“Freddie” is what everyone called him who knew him, was a person who tried to make people think he was hard, but underneath that exterior, he was sensitive and caring. He lived in California for a while and returned to Chattanooga to spend time with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his son, Michael Frederick Reid; brother, Ernest Reed; sister, Jacqueline Reid Steele.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his sons, James Reid, of Chattanooga, Kevin Reid, of Lilburn, Ga., and Ryan Reid, of Long Beach, Ca.; daughters, Leslie McDaniel, of Tracy City, Tn., Rayven Reid, of Long Beach, Ca.; sister, Juanita Reel; special friend and caregiver, Pamela Berry; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Onetta Reed, of California; special cousin, Inez Clift; dearest friend, Connie Cooper (Ryan and Rayven’s mom), of California; nieces, nephews cousins and best friend, David (Joyce) Grimes.
Public viewing will be held from 2–6 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 9, at John P. Franklin Funeral Home.
A graveside service will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 10. Interment will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
