The Cleveland State Cougars golf team competed in the region 7 district tournament Monday and Tuesday finishing in third place overall, qualifying for the national tournament.
Cougars sophomore Andrew Mccarver won the tournament shooting a five under par.
This is the second consecutive season a Cougars golfer has won the district tournament.
Carson Milen added to the success in the tournament making a hole in one on hole 15, his first hole in one of his career.
"We posted some of our best tournament scores of the year and they came when it counted," Cleveland State head golf coach Shannon Skipper said.
"I am very proud of these guys and their hard work is paying off."
The Cougars leave town May 17th traveling to Plymouth, IN to compete in the National Tournament at Swan Lake Golf Resort.
