Robert Daniel
Robert Louis Daniel, Jr., 70, passed away on April 11, 2025, in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Born on Sept. 20, 1954, in Chattanooga, to Robert Louis Daniel, Sr., and Myrtle Lee Daniel, Robert was a lifelong resident who cherished his roots and family ties.
A proud graduate of Howard High School, Class of 1972, Robert began his career directly out of high school with a strong work ethic. He worked other jobs before landing at Model Box, Inc before their closure.
Robert was devoted to his family, often bringing everyone together with his love for grilling. He was also known for his unique hobby of crafting beautiful small furniture pieces from clothespins, a talent that fascinated all who saw his work. His passion for Old School music filled his home with joy, and he frequently traveled back to his hometown of Monroe, Ga., to visit beloved relatives.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Louis Daniel, Sr.; his mother, Myrtle Lee Daniel; brother, Leo Daniel; his son, Terrence “Lovell” Tory;
Robert leaves to cherish his memory two sons, Larry Daniel and Tyrance “Ty” Tory; two daughters, Mia “Missy” Daniel Brown and June Nicole “Nikki” “Junebug” Daniel; thirteen grandchildren; and one great-grandchild; sisters, Joanne Woodgett, Rose Marie Mason, and Elaine Daniel; brothers, Michael Daniel, Sr., Jerry Daniel, Sr., and Willie Daniel; 6 nieces, 4 nephews, 6 great grandnephews, and 5 great grandnieces; friend and former wife, Angelia Jones; special friend, Maxine McClendon.
Public viewing will be held from 2-6 p.m. on Wednesday, April 30, at the funeral home.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 1, in the chapel of John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., Chattanooga, 423 622-9995.
Robert’s warmth, creativity, and love for his family will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.
Interment will follow at Forest Hills Cemetery.
