Denise Gager Brittain, 73, of Chattanooga , Tennessee, passed away on July 3, 2025 after an illness.

She was born on August 13, 1951 in Long Island, NY to Warren and Constance Gager. The Gager family moved to Niskayuna, NY where Denise graduated from Niskayuna High School and SUNY Albany. Denise started her long career for the USPS as a letter carrier in Albany, NY, and was a proud officer for NALC Branch #29 for many years. In 1996, Denise decided to transfer to Chattanooga,TN in search of warmer weather to continue her career and finally retire after almost 40 years. Denise leaves behind many dear friends in both Albany and Chattanooga.

Denise was predeceased in death by her parents and her second husband Michael Brittain.

She is survived by her children Kimberly Nugent (Ben Farber), Kevin Nugent and granddaughters Caylan Collins (Shaquille) and Brianna Nugent. She is also survived by her siblings Gerard Gager (Pat), Patricia Ryan (Jerry), Janet Johnson, Susan Gager, John Gager (Dawn) and many nieces and nephews. She will also be missed by her dear friend Tim Chadwick.

Denise loved her family, friends and animals. To honor Denise please be kind to animals and donate to your local animal causes. A private memorial to remember Denise will be held at a later time.
