Pamela Grace Lanier, 69, of Soddy Daisy, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on July 10, 2025.
Born on March 3, 1956, in Burlington, Vt., Pam was the daughter of her late beloved parents, Louis & Grace Rocke. She graduated from Steubenville High School (1974) known as “The Big Red”, earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, and her master’s degree from Trevecca Nazarene University of Nashville. Pam dedicated 37 years to education in Hamilton County Schools. She loved and inspired thousands of students with her passion and unwavering enthusiasm for teaching.
Pam’s kind spirit, generosity and compassion touched the lives of many. She was a fiercely loyal friend, who shall be deeply missed by her friends and all who had the privilege of having her in their life. She will forever be remembered for her simple unassuming nature and her profound impact on the lives that she touched. Pam considered her colleagues and friends as family. Her life was rich with deeply rooted relationships.
Pam was a lifelong Republican. Her hobbies were cooking, entertaining, and painting. She especially enjoyed painting personalized dog portraits for her friends.
Pam was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Christian “Chris” Lanier, III.
She is survived by her daughter, Grace (John) Branum of Red Bank.
A memorial service for Pam will be held at a later date.

Pam truly appreciated the excellent care she received at Guiding Grace PCH, Memorial Hospital, and Chattanooga Kidney Center North.
