Chattanooga FC Announces Volkswagen as Premier Kit Sponsor for 2022

  • Wednesday, April 6, 2022

Two iconic Chattanooga brands, better together. Chattanooga FC is thrilled to announce a collaboration with Volkswagen Group of America that will electrify supporters from their neighborhood pitches all the way to Fort Finley.

“Not only will VW’s iconic logo return to the front of all CFC jerseys, but Volkswagen will work with us to provide more opportunities for women in soccer, including players, coaches, and referees,” said Jeremy Alumbaugh, CEO, Chattanooga FC. “We are thrilled to have VW back, and look forward to showing the community just what we can do when we work together.  This partnership is a strong statement that VW believes in this club and this community.”

“We applaud the Chattanooga Football Club’s addition of a women’s team,” said Burkhard Ulrich, senior vice president of human resources at Volkswagen Chattanooga.

“For Volkswagen, diversity in the workforce is a strength that we aim to continue building and fostering. Our factory has a long history with the CFC, and we look forward to seeing our brand return to their jerseys again. Just as Volkswagen is the People’s Car, soccer is the people’s sport; it’s a natural fit for us.”

The collaboration is structured around three pillars: Electrifying soccer, Diversity and Inclusion, and Sustainability. The Scenic City will soon become the “Home of the ID.4,” as VW builds out their plant to produce the all electric ID.4. Returning the VW logo to the Chattanooga FC jersey seemed like a great way to promote the next phase of VW’s commitment to the community.

As part of the agreement, CFC will provide free player clinics for female participants, coaching clinics for female coaches, and introduction to refereeing courses for female participants. These programs will be offered within a 120-mile radius with CFC community soccer partners. The deal will also facilitate community involvement for the CFC Women's Team with our outreach program and through a mentorship program with local women business owners and executives.

“Chattanooga FC’s purpose is to build community through the world’s game, and through our work together VW will help us strengthen our mission within the Chattanooga community” said Madyson Foster Smith, Director of Corporate Partnerships. “VW was one of our longest standing associates, and to have them back on the jerseys just feels right.”

Volkswagen is committed to sustainability, as is evident by the attention to with a goal of being carbon neutral by 2050. Chattanooga FC shares this focus, and will unveil strategies to encourage supporters to practice sustainability on the way to the game as well as within Finley Stadium. Annual passes and single game tickets are available now at CFCTIX.com
