Chattanooga FC Women Set To Play UFA Gunners In 1st Away Match

  • Thursday, June 5, 2025
Chattanooga FC Women is preparing for Friday night lights in the Greater Atlanta area as it looks to complete the double over UFA (United Futbol Academy) Gunners.

Head Coach Juan Hernandez and Co will look to rebound from a narrow 2-1 defeat by nationally-ranked Decatur FC on Tuesday evening.

"We wanted to be in a competitive conference and play these kinds of games often," said Hernandez. "We want to make sure our players understand that we are right there [against a nationally-ranked side].
We just need to clean up some details and be a little more effective, and then the game will be the game, but we are right there with the best."

CFC opened its 2025 campaign against UFA Gunners on May 23rd with a comprehensive 5-0 victory, headlined by braces from local star Kennedy Ball and electric forward Reese McDermott.

Chattanooga will look to put pressure on top-ranked Decatur FC with a third win in the WPSL Southeast Conference - Peachtree Division table.

The match on Friday night will be UFA Gunners' home opener and fifth match overall of the season.

The club is coming off a confidence-boosting 2-0 win at Georgia Impact on Sunday following three consecutive defeats to open the campaign.

UFA is coached by Iggy Moleka, and assisted by Felix Thomas and Gaucho Pinho.

The club is participating in its second season in the WPSL. UFA was founded in 2010.
