Tommy Crangle
Tommy Crangle, 80, left this earthly life on July 20, 2025, and is now in the presence of Jesus. He was surrounded by family who loved him immensely, including his children and wife of 30 years.
Tommy grew up on a farm in West Tennessee. A Baptist by practice, he loved and followed Jesus. He was a licensed professional engineer and retired from TVA as senior manager of Transmission Construction. After retirement he went to Iraq seven times as the senior manager of power grid restoration. He also dabbled in real estate purchase and resale and later in his retirement he was very involved in politics. He was our super hero, and we lovingly called him “Captain America.”
Tommy was an eternal optimist, “can-do” visionary, hard worker, strong, stable, full of life, and easy to laugh. He had valiantly fought vascular dementia since 2017. His spirit will forever be missed, but he is now healed.
Survivors include his loving wife, Pamper Garner Crangle; daughter, Holly Crangle Mays (David); stepson, Tyler Garner Howell (Lindsey); stepdaughter, Kati Schmidt (Bill); brothers, Jerry Crangle (Jane), Collegedale, TN and Johnny Crangle (Deb), Las Vegas NV; sister in law, Jean Crangle; beloved grandchildren, Ollie, Henry, Runa, Artie, and Elowen; several nieces and one nephew. His beloved brother, Raymond, predeceased him.
A Celebration of Life will be announced in the near future.
