MANN+HUMMEL, a global filtration solutions provider, is taking steps to accelerate growth potential and become an employer of choice within the Dunlap community.
On Aug. 8, the company will increase its base pay rate by $3 per hour, putting the starting wage at $17.50 for production operators. A $1 shift premium applies to second and third shift opportunities.
"MANN+HUMMEL is also reinventing its product offering, ensuring alignment with company-wide
product lines and strategic goals," officials said.
"The Dunlap facility currently focuses on the passenger car segment for Tier 1 customers. The site will strategically shift its focus to also be a specialist for heavy-duty industrial and agricultural filtration housings, largely for Tier 1 original equipment customers."
To focus even more intently on this market, MANN+HUMMEL recently announced the intention to sell its non-filtration product lines, such as air intake manifolds, high-pressure air ducts and fluid reservoirs.
“This move sharpens our strategic vision and allows us to increasingly steer our investments and
research in sustainability and alternative drive concepts,” said Jack Endres, vice president,
Operations OEM. “MANN+HUMMEL is being proactive for our future, accelerating our business
transformation, while putting more focus and investment on our filtration opportunities in new,
dynamic market segments.”
The Dunlap manufacturing plant has also added a new plant manager to its leadership team. Jay Ralston joined the MANN+HUMMEL team in July 2022, bringing experience in general management, continuous improvement, quality engineering and business
intelligence.
“There is an incredible amount of talent and growth potential within this MANN+HUMMEL team,” said Mr. Ralston. “I was inspired by MANN+HUMMEL’s vision of cleaner mobility, cleaner air and cleaner water, and believe there are great things we can do to improve the world around us. My ultimate goal is to implement improvements across our Dunlap site that
will create a workplace worthy of spending an entire career – a team environment based on respect, learning and growth that is well regarding in the community.”
Officials said, "MANN+HUMMEL has always had strong ties within the local community. The Dunlap site has long-standing partnerships with the Sequatchie County School system, providing support and community engagement opportunities. The site also is closely tied to the local Chamber of Commerce, Dunlap Lions Club and the local VFW chapter."
