It’s almost here. We’re just two days away from gameday at Finley Stadium. The 12th-ranked Chattanooga Mocs host Wofford in not only the season opener, but more importantly, the Southern Conference start for both programs.

Win and you’re in first.

Lose…well, let’s just focus on that first part. You always want to make a good impression in an opener, but it’s vital when it all starts with league play.

“It means being ready to execute what we’ve been practicing and training for all summer,” said running back Ailym Ford. “That’s being disciplined, playing hard as a team and finding a way to win and have a positive impact.”

It’s been a lot of work getting to this point. It all started in January with the squad building towards an exciting opening game at Finley Stadium.

“I’m just excited to get back out there with my brothers and get on the field and just play,” added tight end Jay Gibson. “We worked hard all spring and summer to get to this point. I think we’re just a little tired of practicing against each other, and we’re ready to go and compete against an opponent.”

Here’s all you need to know in advance of Saturday’s 6 p.m., kickoff.
