The Chattanooga Mocs men's and women's tennis teams will compete in back-to-back matches against Austin Peay on Saturday afternoon in Clarksville, Tenn., at the Governors Tennis Courts.
First serve for the women's match is set for 12 p.m. ET while the men will take battle following conclusion of that match at 3 p.m. ET. Unfortunately, there will be no live stats/results or live video available for either match.
The Chattanooga (10-1) women are entering Saturday's contest winners of its last eight matches to accomplish its longest win streak since rattling off 10-straight in 2015.
The 10-1 start to the season is the best since a 13-1 start all the way back in 1997.
"The matches between Austin Peay and UTC have been amazing displays of college tennis," said head coach Chad Camper. "I'm in hopes that we can come together as a team and put our best tennis on the court."
Chattanooga and Austin Peay (6-3, W3) will meet for the 24th time on the women's side with the Mocs holding a 20-3 all-time series lead over the Govs. It'll mark the first meeting between the two teams since a 4-3 UTC victory on January 20, 2020.
The Chattanooga (8-4) men are coming off a weekend split of home matches against Kennesaw State (W, 5-2) and Troy (L, 2-5). The Mocs are winners in five of its last seven matches following its 3-2 start to the season.
"We have two more matches before conference play starts and the guys are locking in," head coach Chuck Merzbacher stated. "Austin Peay, who we saw at the UTC Steve Baras Invite in the fall, has improved significantly."
UTC and Austin Peay will meet for the 28th time on the men's side with the Scenic City representatives holding a 21-6 advantage in the all-time series. Saturday's matchup will mark the 11th-straight season the two teams have met in non-conference action.
